LAND GRAB CONTINUES AT MOUNT PANORAMA

There’s no doubting the popularity of one of Australia’s biggest and best camp site venues as ardent V8 Supercar fans assemble themselves throughout an estimated 300 000 square metres of land for this year’s Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 on October 7-10.
The five campgrounds based at various locations throughout Bathurst’s famous Mount Panorama circuit will be a hive of activity during the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.
Already unprecedented campsite sales and a back-log of applications to work through have organisers predicting a steady flow of site allocations as the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 looms closer.
“As has become traditional for the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 both The Chase and McPhillamy Park campgrounds have sold out first, however it’s a major coup for the event to have filled the accumulated 1, 243 sites so early,” said IMG Director of Motorsport James O’Brien.
“Luckily for patrons the range of options are still very attractive for potential campers with The Paddock a most feasible alternative.
“All support category vehicles in the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN are based out of this area which is situated directly behind the newly established pits.
“As part of the refurbishments taking place at Mount Panorama a new amenities block has been established at The Paddock site.”
For the more adventurous temporary residents of Bathurst during the Ultimate Showdown, the Reid Sulman campsite always provides a unique party atmosphere.
It’s situated next door to McPhillamy Park, based close to the top of Mount Panorama where great aerial views of the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 can be experienced.
“The newest of campgrounds, Max Cameron continues to build its reputation as an affordable option for families.
“Site sales have doubled in 2004 compared to the corresponding time last year,” added O’Brien.
“All-in-all it’s shaping as a very successful Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 on October 7-10.
“With some major announcements set to take place over coming weeks it wouldn’t surprise me to see even greater interest shown in the campgrounds.
“To complement the positive land grab within the campground areas our grandstand ticket sales are also continuing to prove very popular.
“Although there is still three months to go until the annual pilgrimage to Bathurst, it’s obvious the 2004 ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN will provide a fitting chapter in the 42 year history of the most significant motorsports event in Australia.
