Roadships Makes Big Splash

18/6/2004 22:31 (Press Release) - The small print on the Team Dynamik cars reveals a big story about the Team's future. Across the bonnet and boot of the Roadships cars #44 and #45 is a prospectus statement for an exciting new concept in transport logistics for Australia.

Roadships Logistics has naming rights for the two Team Dynamik cars, and with an ever-increasing trackside and TV audience, is promoting its forthcoming public listing everywhere possible.

Applications for Roadships shares opened on 4 June, and will close on 2 July 2004, with an aim to raise $9M in capital with the shares listed initially at 50 cents each. The prospectus can be downloaded from www.roadships.com

Roadships Logistics Ltd chairman Oliver Douglas was among the enthusiastic Team Dynamik support crew at the V8 SUpercar Round 5 in Perth recently.

Revved up by a day's exciting racing at Barbagallo, he was buoyant about his company's involvement with Team Dynamik.

"Roadships Logisitics needed exposure early in the piece. Our relationship with Team Dynamik has worked tremendously well for us," he said. "We are very proud that our name is on the cars," he said.

Potential Roadships clients and shareholders liked "trucks, V8 supercars, helicopters and big ships", Mr Douglas said. The "small print" promoting the Roadships float would add to the attention the prospectus had already generated, he said.

Roadships Logistics plans to turn Australian freight transport – one of the largest sectors in the Australian economy - on its head. Two custom-built ships will run between Melbourne and Perth, loaded with truck trailers. It will take these trucks off the three-day Nullabor road trip, ease traffic pressure, save fuel and labour costs and reduce pollution. Additionally, Melbourne to Fremantle will be three hours quicker.

Improved logistics and supply chain management have become major themes for companies pursuing efficiency improvements, and Roadships possesses not only a profitable existing business through its recent acquisition of Success Freightlines Pty Ltd and the assets and business of "Success Freightlines" but access to next-generation shipping technology which can drive growth.

International ship builder Kvaerner Masa has an interest in Roadships Logistics, and plans to build the two "Roadships" for the group. Check out the plans at www.roadships.com

Mr Douglas said the two-level ships would be in excess of 200m long. Innovative ramps would allow more efficient loading and unloading of 140 road trailers.

More than nine years of effort has gone into developing the concept. Now there was opportunity for other investors to participate in this exciting development in transport, he said.
