Gilchrist And Langer Indulge Their V8 Supercar Passion In Perth

Australian cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Justin Langer are this weekend indulging in another great passion of theirs – the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Gilchrist and Langer are huge V8 Supercar fans and both will be at this weekend’s fifth round of the championship at Barbagallo Raceway in their hometown of Perth.
Opening bat Langer will travel twice as fast as a Shoaib Ahktar thunderbolt when he takes a ride in a V8 Supercar with Shell Helix Racing’s Steve Johnson on Friday while Gilchrist will look up old mate and current series leader Steven Richards on Saturday.
Gilchrist rarely misses a V8 Supercar round live or on television when he’s home or by checking up on the results when he is on the road. He and Richards have struck up a great rapport since meeting several years ago.
They are not alone in sharing a passion for the world’s best motor racing category. Their former Australian skipper Steve Waugh is another who follows the sport with a passion as does former fast bowler Jason Gillespie – just to name a few.
