Holden Racing Team boys on pole in Darwin

Former champion Mark Skafe has assumed pole position for the first race of the V8 Supercar Championship Series in Darwin this afternoon.
Skaife posted the fastest time in the top 10 shootout which puts him on the front of the grid. It was a great result for Skaife’s Holden Racing Team with his team-mate Todd Kelly sitting beside on the starting line.
Jason Bright and reigning champion Marcos Ambrose finished on the second row.
Darwin hosts three races this weekend. The first is a 17-lap sprint at 4.30 this afternoon followed by two longer 100km races tomorrow.
All three races combine for the winner of the fourth round of the championship.
