
DRIVERS WARM UP FOR HIDDEN VALLEY IN ARMY RANKS

A collaborative showcase of technology has been organised between the Australian Carrera Cup and 1st Brigade, Robertson Barracks, to coincide with the motor racing spectacular this weekend at Hidden Valley Raceway.
The Carrera Cup is Australia’s fastest growing motor racing category and is the primary support category to the V8 Supercars. It is also regarded as the fastest ‘one-make’ championship in the world, with 20 Porsche 911 GT3 911 Cup cars set for battle at Hidden Valley.

Thursday May 20
10.30am – Carrera Cup driver Rodney Jane will exhibit his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car at the Robertson Barracks, before he races his 400-horsepower machine this weekend at Hidden Valley Raceway.
Friday May 21
9.00am – Four Carrera Cup drivers will be taken for a ride in a M113 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) – the first modern "battle taxi", with soldiers of 1st Brigade, Robertson Barracks recently returned from deployment in East Timor. This will be held at the mud circuit at Hidden Valley Raceway. Directions – The road leading to the mud circuit is just prior to the Paddock entry at Hidden Valley Raceway. Follow directional signage to entry gate.
1.45pm – The four soldiers will be given a ride at race speed in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars at Hidden Valley Raceway during the first day of racing action.
