Lapping It Up - Bartercard V8 Supercar Series Sponsorship

10/5/2004 1:05 (Press Release) - Bartercard has just entered into a three-year major sponsorship contract with the Australian V8 Supercar series, a move which will benefit all Bartercard markets throughout the country.

The V8 Supercar series sponsorship gives Bartercard an association with an event which is not only held in every mainland state of Australia, but also New Zealand.

There are also plans to add Singapore and Dubai, plus a second race in New Zealand, to the racing schedule in future years.

The series is televised in 70 countries, and is shown in 396 million homes worldwide.

With a truly national sponsorship now in place for the first time, all Brokerages Australia-wide will benefit from the Trade Exchange’s connection with the sport.

Part of the sponsorship arrangement is the naming rights to the prestigious, international Bartercard V8 Supergirl competition. More than 3,000 beautiful young ladies are this year vying for the opportunity to be the Face of V8 Supercars, as the 2005 Bartercard V8 Supergirl.

At each round of the V8 races this year, 44 single young ladies will be narrowed down to six by judges at the track. These girls are then posted on the V8 Supercar website (www.v8supercars.com.au), and the public are able to vote online for their favourite. The winner voted from each round then goes to the Bartercard V8 Supergirl Grand Final at Eastern Creek at the end of the year.

In the first two events, the polling on the V8 Supercar website has had an unprecedented response making it the 3rd most visited page. Go Bartercard!

The overall winner will receive $30,000 worth of prizes and a 12-month promotional contract from Bartercard as the Face of V8 Supercars.

The Bartercard V8 Supergirl competition launched onto the track for the 2004 V8 Supercar series at the first round of the competition, the Clipsal 500, in Adelaide in March. Since then, the event has been staged at Rounds 2 (Eastern Creek International Raceway, Sydney, NSW), 3 (PlaceMakers NZ V8 International in Pukekohe, NZ) and 3 (Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, NT).

Corporate hospitality has been offered to Brokerages and their Members located near the venue of each round. Pace car ride opportunities for trading incentives are also on offer.

The three-year deal will create an opportunity for tickets sales in 2005.

The remaining rounds are:

5 Barbagallo Raceway, Perth, WA (11-13 June)
6 Queensland Raceway, Ipswich, QLD (2-4 July)
7 Winton Motor Raceway, Benalla, VIC (23-25 July)
