ORRCON RACES INTO NEW ZEALAND
1/5/2004 5:58 (Press Release) -
Orrcon, the pipe, steel and tube manufacturer last night launched into their first overseas venture officially opening their New Zealand warehouse.
In a gala launch at on the docks of the Auckland harbour, the base for the 2000 Americas Cup, Orrcon Chairman David Simmons spoke about Orrcon racing into New Zealand with their first overseas venture.
“We are a company that prides ourselves on passion and striving to do the best job possible and offer the highest level of service to our distributors,” said Simmons.
“Orrcon has have a number of distributors in New Zealand and the best way to provide them with the service that they require is to have the stock here in New Zealand, hence the reason of our latest warehouse making it eight Orrcon warehouses in total.
“We are looking to develop our pipe and precision arm here in New Zealand in addition to our traditional steel business.”
Simmons was then officially welcomed to New Zealand by a group of native New Zealand Maori’s who entertained the guest with traditional Maori dances and the famous Hukka.
The evening combined the launch of Orrcon into New Zealand and also the link between Orrcon, the pipe, steel and tube manufacturer and Larkham Motor Sport of which Orrcon is the major corporate partner.
“Both Orrcon and Larkham Motor Sport are based on the values of always striving to achieve greater results,” said Mark Larkham.
“The core values in both businesses are very similar and it is great for Orrcon to have a true base here in New Zealand, especially with the V8 Championship being extremely strong in this country.”
This weekend Larkham Motor Sport drivers Jason Bargwanna and Mark Winterbottom will compete in the third round of the V8 Supercar Championship at Pukekohe, New Zealand.
Bargwanna is currently fifth in the extremely competitive Championship with Winterbottom continuing to impress also in his rookie year.
