Motorsport hits the airwaves in exciting new program
27/4/2000 11:43 (Jason Whittaker) - The world of Motorsport will soon have a new forum for discussion and debate, with the announcement of a new radio program devoted to Australian and International Motorsport.
Hosted by experienced race caller and self-confessed rev-head,
Grant Boyden, the program will cover all categories of motorsport
from the F1 Circus to local club meetings.
The hour-long, weekly program, produced by Boyden's
GB Commentary Productions, will be broadcast in Sydney
on 2KY FM Racing Radio, and throughout New South Wales on
over 180 stations. Those living outside NSW can listen
live via the Internet at: www.2ky.com.au.
"Finally, motorsport has a medium to cover all areas of Australian
International Motorsport," Grant Boyden said. "We will have Formula 1, Cart, Formula Holden, Formula Ford, Formula 3 and F3000, as well as V8's and all the local action from Bikes to Karts."
Boyden has gathered a galaxy of experienced motorsport mouths to give their insight into the different categories, including Chris Jewel (Formula Holden), Lance Robertson (500cc Motorbikes) and Leigh Diffey, who will beam in live each week from different points on the globe covering the Superbikes.
Australia's favourite category, the V8 Supercars, haven't been forgotten either, with a segment devoted to the Ford V Holden battle each week. Motorsport Journalist Jason Whittaker will act as the show's V8 Supercar correspondent.
Monday's debut show (May 1) will feature an interview with Indy Lights star and V8 export Jason Bright, as well as current Supercar driver Cameron McLean. Interviews with Garry McCoy and a yet-to-be-named Formula 1 driver are planned for future shows.
"We will go right to the person that has the story. We don't care who they are!" Boyden said.
The first program will be broadcast this Monday, May 1st, from 11-12pm.
