Placemakers NZ V8 International: Pukekohe (Auckland) – April 30th/May 2nd
Testing: None
Car #2/Chassis #49:
Since Eastern Creek:
• Replace front spoiler/2 x front guards/bonnet/1 x side “skirt”
• New windscreen
• Strip and clean body shell following Eastern Creek rain
Pukekohe Preparation:
• No engine change
• General servicing and install set-up for Pukekohe circuit
Mark Skaife:
“Having shown excellent car speed both in dry and wet conditions at Eastern Creek, I’m confident we should be on the pace at Pukekohe. I was second there last year after coming back from a first race incident with Max Wilson so we were very competitive. Perhaps this year an Aussie can claim the round win rather than the ‘local’ bloke!”
Car #22/Chassis #48:
Since Eastern Creek:
• Chassis was taken to Dencar, where it was fitted with 2 rear ¼ panels/2 rear rails/boot lid/lower valance panel/fuel tank surround
• Returned to Clayton for painting in PPG Autocolour
• Into workshop where chassis received new passenger side front door/rear bar/lower rear “skirt”/front spoiler/2 headlights
• New windscreen
• Strip and clean body shell following Eastern Creek rain
Pukekohe Preparation:
• Engine removed to receive mid-cycle top end service and replaced
• General servicing and install set-up for Pukekohe circuit
Todd Kelly:
“After a non-stop period from before Adelaide up until Eastern Creek, I’ve had a very welcome break over the Easter period and am eager to get to New Zealand. The car is back at the pointy end pace wise after Eastern Creek and Pukekohe was a good event for us last November where I finished 3rd. I’d like to think that with some luck and a mistake-free run, I can do better than 3rd this time around.”
Format:
• 1 x36-lap race Saturday
• 2 x 54-lap races Sunday
• All 3 races will require a Compulsory Pit Stop to change tyres
