Holden "slow-down" on-hold

21/4/2000 11:58 (Jason Whittaker) - A meeting of concerned parties yesterday has put on-hold plans to slow the Holdens in the continuing Ford V Holden parity debate.

The CAMS Performance Review Committee (PRC) and the Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA), met by teleconference yesterday morning and agreed to extend the date by which TEGA was to provide a method for the implementation of the Holden "slow-down."

The TEGA Technical Manager was originally to provide the recommendation on slowing the Commodores by April 18, 14 days after the initial parity deliberation, but this date has been pushed back until 5pm on April 27.

The TEGA delay in establishing the exact method of slowing the Commodores by the agreed 0.3sec per one minute lap is unknown. Being Good Friday, TEGA were today unavailable for comment.

The deadline is now just three days before Round 4 of the Shell Series at Eastern Creek Raceway - the meeting by which the changes were to made.
