Shane Beikoff Racing Ready For Revenge At Winton Weekend

14/4/2004 23:19 (Press Release) - Konica Minolta V8 Supercar team Shane Beikoff Racing will arrive at Round 3 of the 2004 Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series at Winton Motor Raceway determined to make up for the disappointment at this same round 12 months ago.

In 2003, armed with a new EL Falcon, the team showed plenty of speed by moving just outside the Top 10 in Practice, however the weekend went pear shaped from there. Heavy contact with another competitor during Race 2 ended the weekend for Shane Beikoff Racing, resulting one of the only DNF’s for Shane Beikoff Racing during their 2 year involvement in the Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series.

Team Manager & Driver for Round 3 Shane Beikoff will be looking for some impressive results during the 3rd Round of the Series.

“We’ve been slowly coming to terms with how to set-up the Dieseltech Springwood AU Falcon for maximum performance, and it’s fair to say we haven’t seen the full potential this car can deliver,” Beikoff said,

“The team have made some geometry adjustments between the last Round (Adelaide) and this Round, and we have high hopes that this will elevate us up the grid order,” Brisbane-based resident Beikoff stated.

Shane Beikoff Racing is also currently seeking an experienced driver to participate in the upcoming Rounds of the Konica Minolta Series, allowing young drivers with very high potential to find their feet in the competitive industry of V8 Supercars. Team Manager Shane Beikoff is excited at the prospects a new driver could add to the Archerfield-based team, stating that the Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series is the breeding ground for future talent in V8 Supercars.

“Motor racing has seen some great names pass through the Konica Minolta Series – Simon Wills, Dean Canto, Paul Dumbrell, Mark Winterbottom, Wayne Wakefield – all these guys learnt the art of V8 Supercar driving in the Konica Minolta Series, and it would be great for Shane Beikoff Racing to become involved in bringing the next star into the fold,” Beikoff explained.

“We currently are speaking to a few high potential pilots for the Dieseltech Springwood AU Falcon and, while nothing is locked in, we’re very confident of what these drivers can offer,” an excited Beikoff described.

Round 3 of the 2004 Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series will commence on Saturday, 17th April with 3 races set to electrify the 3.0km Winton Motor Raceway on Sunday, 18th April.
