CARRERA CUP – SUMMARY OF PENALTIES IMPOSED

14/4/2004 22:40 (Press Release) - Matters from previous rounds held over:

Special Event: Foster’s Australian Grand Prix

Marcus Marshall and Tony Quinn - The steward’s inquiry was reconvened on 25th March 2004 where additional video evidence from the circuit’s fixed security cameras was shown. From the viewing of this video footage the charge against Mr Marshall was dismissed.

Round 1: Clipsal 500, Adelaide

Race 3:
Peter Fitzgerald - Breach of pit lane speed limit. A time penalty of 30 seconds to be added to Mr Fitzgerald’s total race time for race 3.

Round 2: Eastern Creek, Sydney

Qualifying:
Car #92 (Ross Rutherford) was found to be in breach of the pit lane speed limit. A fine of $100 was imposed.

Race 1:
Car #88 (Ash Samadi) received a 25 second time penalty to his race 1 race time, due to a driving infringement in that race.

Stewards held an inquiry with car #8 Tony Quinn and car #42 Peter Bradbury at the request of the race director relating to an incident involving both drivers at turn 2, first lap, race one. The stewards concluded there was insufficient evidence to be able to prove a breach of the rules in this instance.

Race 2:
Car #2 (James Cressey) received a 25 second time penalty to his race 2 race time, due to a driving infringement in that race.

Race 3:
A steward’s inquiry was held relating to car #7 (Rodney Jane) finishing in second place in race 3 which finished under safety car conditions. After viewing the race’s lap chart and hearing evidence from the race director, car #7 was relegated to third position for race 3.
