	Winterbottom And Kennelly Compare Recoveries Before Round Two 4/4/2004 8:31 (Press Release) - After the opening round of the V8 Supercar Championship Orrcon Racing driver Mark Winterbottom was looking at a severely damaged Orrcon Racing Falcon while Sydney Swans player Tadhg Kennelly suffered a knee injury that threatened to sideline him for several weeks. Courtesy of some hard work by the Larkham Motor Sport Winterbottom will be back on track this weekend at Eastern Creek, a circuit that is a 2-minute drive from his family home. In Kennelly's case it's a miraculous recovery after suffering a cartilage tear in his left knee just eight days ago that required an arthroscope last Thursday. Today the pair compared their remarkable recoveries at the Sydney Cricket Ground. “It has been amazing effort by the team to get my Orrcon Racing Falcon back on track for this weekend and to speak with Tadhg on his recovery was very enlightening,” said Winterbottom. “As a race car driver most of our repairs are mechanical so to listen to the way Tadgh has recovered spending two days awake simply to treat his knee was unbelievable. “Also to kick a footy on the SCG is also something every kid dreams of.” While at the home of the Swans Kennelly and his Sydney Swans teammate Leo Barry, who is a self confessed V8 fan, competed in a chin up challenge with Winterbottom and his Orrcon Racing teammate Jason Bargwanna. For the record the challenge was a tie between Kennelly and Winterbottom. “It was very interesting comparing our fitness regimes and in particular differences in the recovery programs after a game or race,” said Kennelly. “The speed of the V8 Supercars simply amazes me.” Following the light work out in the gymnasium the quartet headed to the hallow turf of the SCG where Kennelly and Barry ran the Orrcon Racing pair through several training drills. “I’m a big fan of the V8’s and spending some time with the guys today was great, I look forward to being in an Orrcon Racing Falcon sometime soon,” said Barry. Sydney born Bargwanna has already kicked some goals this year with some good pace in the V8 Supercar Championship this year but today he kicked some goals of different sort. “After I got some tips from the guys I had some shots from about 45 (metres) out from goal and I even got one straight through the middle, well after a few bounces it went through anyway,” said Bargwanna. “Now it’s on to this weekend where I am aiming to kick some goals on the racetrack.” Practice for the second round of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship will begin tomorrow, Friday April 2 followed by qualifying on Saturday and a 300km race on Sunday.
