Wilson And Radisich Have Sights Set On Podium Results At Eastern Creek
4/4/2004 8:27 (Press Release) -
Max Wilson and Paul Radisich drivers of the Team Betta Electrical/Triple Eight Race Engineering BA Ford Falcons in this year’s V8 Supercar Series, each have their sights set on a podium finish in Sunday’s race at Eastern Creek.
Wilson achieved his highest ever placing in the V8 Supercar Series at Eastern Creek in the final round of 2003 – ‘The Main Event’ in November by finishing 3rd in race three.
“I have good memories of Eastern Creek” - said Wilson, “I just hope I can make the podium again this weekend”.
“Next to Bathurst, Eastern Creek would rate as my next favourite circuit and it gives you plenty of opportunities for overtaking, which is great”.
“I was a little disappointed with my outcome at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500, being put out of the race with a silly little electrical malfunction, so disappointing after the car was running so well in the early stages” – Wilson commented.
“The Team have put in a lot of time on the cars since Adelaide, basically stripping them right down and rebuilding them to ensure everything is perfect for this weekends race”.
“Although our new engines are not ready for this round, both Paul and myself consider it will not be a disadvantage at the Creek, it’s a good racers circuit and will certainly give us the opportunity to show the cars ability” – Wilson concluded.
Radisich came away from Adelaide’s Clipsal 500 with 78 points in the Championship and intends to again build on this with round 2.
“It is important to finish every race and accumulate as many points as possible along the way” – said Radisich.
“The series is so competitive this season, you just can’t afford to miss out on points”.
“Eastern Creek offers a lot of passing opportunities as Max has indicated, and it is a great drivers circuit particularly if the car is set up correctly, it gives you quite a buzz negotiating the high speed corners” – Radisich commented.
“I do believe we will be in there with a chance this weekend, the cars are responding near their peek and consistency will rule in Sundays race”.
“Triple Eight have done a superb job in providing us with great machinery this year, it is now up to us as drivers to gain the desired results for both our sponsors Betta Electrical and the team this weekend” – Radisich concluded.
