Super Cheap Auto Striving For Success at Eastern Creek
4/4/2004 8:09 (Press Release) -
Steven Ellery will be out to make amends at round two of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship with Super Cheap Auto Racing out to claim series points at Eastern Creek this weekend.
Ellery was unfortunate not to register any points at the first round of the championship with suspension problems and the infamous turn eight in the first and second races perspectively ending Super Cheap Auto Racing’s weekend.
Despite this result the Super Cheap Auto Racing Falcon was consistently quick in practice and qualifying with Ellery in the top six for all three sessions.
“I was disappointed not to claim any points at Adelaide especially when the Super Cheap Auto Racing Falcon was second fastest in one of the practice sessions,” Ellery said.
“There was certainly an air of disappointment amongst the team and I for one was looking forward to some close racing against the rest of the field throughout the race.
“Eastern Creek is a new round and I will be putting the results of Adelaide behind me and racing to record as many series points as possible for Super Cheap Auto Racing.”
Ellery will be drawing on the speed shown at the first round of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship to help get his series aspirations back on track.
“Judging by the speed shown last round, there is no reason why Super Cheap Auto Racing cannot improve on the result of last round and leave Eastern Creek in a better overall position in the championship at the conclusion of the event,” Ellery commented.
“The Super Cheap Auto Racing Falcon is an excellent car at the moment, and personally I am confident of a good result and focused on achieving it. These elements combined should make Eastern Creek a good weekend for the team.”
The third round of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship will consist of a 300 kilometre race on Sunday around Eastern Creek Raceway on the outskirts of Western Sydney.
