INDY FEVER STRIKES QUEENSLAND
26/3/2004 20:18 (Press Release) -
Indy Fever has started to spread throughout Queensland and Australia in 2004.
The ticket launch and unveiling of the new look of the Lexmark Indy 300 was held today at Dreamworld, with a massive campaign planned for the next seven months to make this year’s event the best in its 14-year history.
The annual Lexmark Indy 300 will strike the streets of Surfers Paradise from October 21 to 24 this year.
V8 Supercar stars Marcos Ambrose and Russell Ingall, who will feature prominently at this year’s Lexmark Indy 300, today unveiled a new-look billboard and television commercial that will promote the 2004 edition of Queensland’s premier event.
This year’s campaign is ‘Indy Fever’ – a condition that will affect hundreds of thousands of people in the lead up to the Lexmark Indy 300. This condition is only cured by the rush and excitement of attending this great event.
Organisers are confident of another record-breaking year after achieving an amazing four-day crowd of 306,184 last year.
“The Lexmark Indy 300 just grows and grows,” said Lexmark Indy 300 General Manager James Ashworth. “This year will be no exception, as we have some exciting initiatives to add to the whole entertainment extravaganza.
“The Champ Cars will put on another great show of speed and technical wizardry. The Gillette V8 Supercar Challenge will captivate audiences, especially the drivers we have here today – the current V8 Supercar champion Marcos Ambrose and last year’s winner on the Gold Coast street circuit Russell Ingall.
“There will be an extensive on track support program as well as a packed off track carnival that adds further colour, glamour and entertainment to the whole Indy experience.”
