ORRCON TO CLIMB NEW HILLS
17/3/2004 16:15 (Press Release) -
In the opening round of the V8 Supercar Championship in Adelaide this weekend Orrcon Racing will have it’s competitors climb over Hills to find a way past.
Hills will be a corporate partner with Larkham Motor Sport for the season opener at the Clipsal 500 event around the streets of Adelaide.
In 1946 when Lance Hill developed the Hills hoist it was more than a means of drying clothes - it was a very clever piece of practical thinking.
Today, Hills is much more than a manufacturer of clever clotheslines. Hills is a diversified manufacturer of lots of clever Australian products and services which meet standards of quality and dependability people have come to expect and associate with the Hills brand.
It may have been over 50 years since Lance Hill developed Hills’ first product but his clever piece of practical thinking is still firmly entrenched in the company’s philosophy today always “looking outside the square” to develop and improve the company and it’s products.
This weekend Hills will be using this “outside the square” approach as they use the Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide as marketing tool for their company for their new Hills Home Hub product.
The Hills Home Hub delivers and distributes data, phone, video, audio and TV signals, using the latest in data and TV cables, from a centrally located enclosure to any room of your choice. The central enclosure is home to the devices that enable the delivery and distribution of these signals. It also houses the Hills security system controller.
Hills will be a corporate partner of Larkham Motor Sport for the opening round of the Championship complimenting the livery on the Orrcon Racing Falcon’s to be driven by Jason Bargwanna and Mark Winterbottom.
It will be the first time that the Hills group has used the V8 Supercar Championship as a major marketing tool.
"The Hills Home Hub is an exciting new development and initiative for the
Hills Group. Hills are particularly impressed with the Orrcon Racing team and exposure to the V8 Supercars Championship Series is an ideal vehicle for promoting the Hills Home Hub to the wider public,” said Hills Industries Finance Director Graham Twartz.
The addition of Hills Industries as a corporate partner of the team for the weekend compliments the major sponsor, Orrcon who have extensive steel tube manufacturing facilities at O’Sullivans Beach and a steel distribution centre at Croydon Park.
““The impact and exposure that Orrcon has received from being involved with the V8 Supercar Championship has been great and we are pleased that a fellow company from our business group can see the impact that can be achieved by being a part of the team,” said Orrcon’s Sponsorship and Marketing Manager Stewart Smith.
