PROMISING START ENDS IN DISAPPOINTMENT

Melbourne’s weather was on its best behavior for the Fosters Australian Grand Prix events at Albert Park today.
The day was bright and sunny for the V8 Supercars to enter the circuit for the second race of the weekend. After watching some inspiring performances from the F1drivers on their qualifying session, both Team Better Electrical drivers, Paul ”The Rat “Radisich in car #88, and Max Wilson in car #77 were fired up and ready to go.
Prior to the race Radisich said,” The guys have done a great job of building the new cars. The team is made up of a terrific group of very experienced people. We look forward to this season and will be further developing the cars as the season unfolds.”
As the race got underway things seemed to be going well for Radisich gaining a place by the first turn to complete the first lap in 4th place after starting in 5th place on the grid.
Good fortune for the Kiwi Racer did not last long. Whilst approaching turn 4 on lap 2, car 88 locked the rear brakes, sending Radisich off the circuit.
In attempting to re-enter the circuit, Radisich tangled with two other competitors including team mate Max Wilson resulting in both the Team Betta Electrical Ford’s retiring from the race.
“It was disappointing for the team, however these incidents occur when the racing is tight” - said Radisich.
“When the rear brakes locked I just had no choice but to hold the car on line the best I could and aim it across the corner, unfortunately I hadn’t washed off a lot of speed by the time I came back onto the circuit and I guess the rest is history now” – Radisich concluded.
Max Wilson driving the second Team Betta Electrical Ford # 77 was equally disappointed with the outcome of race two.
“I really thought I was in with a chance to improve on my starting position, but as I approached turn four where Paul went off, I was hit from behind which in turn sent me into Paul’s car as he returned onto the circuit, resulting in two cracked rims and deflating tyres, it wasn’t the way I wanted to finish the race”. – Said Wilson.
Both Team Better Electrical Cars will start from the back of the grid in Race Three, a ten-lap event at 10.30 am tomorrow, Sunday March 7.
