Winterbottom Tests His New Orrcon Toy

1/3/2004 16:29 (Press Release) - Following several months of hard work by the team at Larkham Motor Sport the Orrcon Racing BA Falcons hit the Queensland Raceway for the first test day of 2004 yesterday.

It was the first time that the team's brand new BA Falcon had hit the track with Mark Winterbottom at the wheel as Jason Bargwanna tested the improvements on last year's Orrcon Racing BA Falcon.

While the pair only completed just over 20 laps each the entire team was pleased with the way the proceedings throughout the day.

"I am extremely proud of the team and what they have achieved over the off-season, especially in the past 14 days. The test was first class achieving the goals we had in mind and now allowing us to focus on pure track time at the Grand Prix next weekend," said Team Owner Mark Larkham.

"We made some minor improvements on last year's car and today went smoothly with no major dramas."

Winterbottom settled in well to his new Orrcon Racing BA Falcon showing good pace throughout the test.

"Straight out of the box the car showed good speed and it is a great starting point for the season," commented Winterbottom.

"We used today to simply iron out any small problems and settings for the car allowing us to fully focus on set up when we hit the track next week."

Throughout the final few rounds of last year's Championship Bargwanna showed great signs of improvement aboard his Orrcon Racing BA Falcon and yesterday's test once again further highlighted the development of the car.

"The day was fantastic. It is very encouraging to have the signs we had today at this time of the year it is a credit to the hard work that the team have put in over the off-season," said Bargwanna.

"There has been a lot of work put into not only Mark's new car but also mine and the amount of effort put in by the guys and to see immediate signs of this hard work is great."

Larkham Motor Sport will now prepare for the Non Championship event at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne beginning this Thursday, March 4.
