Team Betta Electrical Shows True Colours With New Livery Design

13/2/2004 3:32 (Press Release) - Triple Eight Race Engineering together with major sponsor Betta Stores Ltd. today released a totally new livery design for the two Team Betta Electrical BA Falcon’s to be driven by Paul Radisich and Max Wilson for the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series.

“We consider the previous livery had exceeded its use - by date and there was no better time than the present for a dramatic change in both livery design and colour scheme, particularly with the advent of Triple Eight Race Engineering’s acquisition of the team late last year” – said Guy Houghton CEO of major sponsor Betta Stores Ltd.

“We have worked together with Triple Eight Race Engineering to come up with a design we all consider to be a very modern livery that will project a very individualistic branding image of both the team as a whole and Betta Electrical” – commented Mr Houghton.

“Triple Eight Race Engineering is very conscious of the importance of prominent branding for the sponsor company. Keeping this in mind I think we have achieved something very special in colour selection, design and impact, it will certainly be very prominent amongst the other cars out on the circuit and that is what we set out to achieve” said Roland Dane Director of Triple Eight Race Engineering.

“The initial design was put forward by a European design company and then we fine tuned it here to meet the sponsors requirements and what we have managed to achieve is very pleasing indeed”.

“The metallic blue base colour of the race cars is very effective, as it refracts the light in many different directions giving the cars a very individual appearance” - Dane commented.

“We are also pleased with the progress of construction of our two new BA Falcon race cars for this season, although time lines are tight, we are confident they will be prominent on the grid at the Australian Grand Prix come March”.

“Our plan is to be in a position to test both new racecars later in the month prior to them departing to compete in the Melbourne event – March 5-7” – Dane concluded.

CHANGED NUMBERS ON RACECARS
Another Team Betta Electrical change for the 2004 season will feature the numbering of the race cars, Max Wilson’s will now carry #888, whilst the Paul Radisich’s car will carry #88 in this years championship series.

The number 888 was acquired from the Ozemail race team of Brad Jones and is viewed as further eliminating any confusion by the commentary teams and spectators between car numbers and team titles.

Although the new numbering will apply for the championship series, regulations prevent teams from running triple numbers at the Australian Grand Prix event, for this event Max Wilson will run under #77 whilst Radisich will retain #88.

“Triple Eight Race Engineering is absolutely amazing,” said Wilson upon his return from a recent trip home to Brazil.

“I never imagined for a moment that the entire team could be so focussed and so professional. I have had my disappointments with teams here in the past, however I think this team is going to put me in the best position of my career to gain results and maybe the championship.

“My team mate Paul Radisich will have the same opportunities as I will, so I guess it will come down to ability and consistency for both of us to finish on the podium” - Wilson concluded.

“I‘m really looking forward to this season and although we shouldn’t make any bold promises regarding potential achievements, I do feel that we will have the goods to perform to a very high level. In saying that however, it will not be until midway through the season that the majority of planned development of the racecars will be completed” - said Radisich.

“The team is very focused and the promise of performance plus is imminent indeed” – Radisich concluded.
