Queensland Raceway Sign 2004 CAMS Track Licence
9/2/2004 20:47 (Press Release) -
Following lengthy and fruitful discussions last week, Queensland Raceway
and CAMS have moved closer to final agreement for 2004. With the signing
of the track licence, CAMS activity (including V8 testing) can resume at
the circuit from today.
The CAMS track licence agreement was signed by Mr John Tetley, Chief
Executive Officer of Queensland Raceway, and will be finalised in late
February pending the resolution of a number of issues by both parties
within this time frame.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of last week's discussions with
representatives from Queensland Raceway and believe that we have built a
foundation on which we can move forward," Chief Executive Officer Dr Rob
Nethercote commented.
"It was always our desire to see CAMS sanctioned events run at
Queensland Raceway. It is a valuable venue in the Queensland motor sport
scene and is of high importance to our affiliated clubs and event
organisers in that state."
John Tetley was also satisfied with the outcome of the discussions.
"Despite what I believe has been said in several gossip columns,
Queensland Raceway is supportive of CAMS and continues to see value in
the CAMS environment," said Tetley.
"For this reason, we will continue to invest in discussions and time
with our counterparts at CAMS."
