Winton Motor Raceway has signed the CAMS track licence agreement for
2004, enabling scheduled CAMS events to go ahead under the new track
licence arrangements.
The CAMS track licence agreement was signed on Thursday morning by Mr
Mick Ronke, Chief Executive Officer of Winton Motor Raceway and will be
finalised in late February pending the resolution of a number of issues
by both parties within this time frame. The full track licence is
effective immediately.
"We are pleased that the tradition of CAMS sanctioned events running at
Winton Motor Raceway can continue into the future," stated Chief
Executive Officer Dr. Rob Nethercote today.
"This is a positive outcome for motor sport in Victoria, particularly
for Victorian clubs and event organisers who can now approach the 2004
motor sport season with confidence in the arrangements between CAMS and
Winton."
Mr Ronke said, "We are pleased to have had positive discussions with
CAMS and are confident that the issues pending will be satisfactorily
addressed. This will ensure that Winton will be able to continue its
motor racing activities as in the past as well as expand into other
areas we are keen to develop."
Representatives from Winton Motor Raceway and CAMS met on Wednesday
