FPR on the move to Campbellfield

The Ford Performance Racing team has begun the busy task of establishing a new state of the art engineering centre in Campbellfield.
Ford Performance Racing (FPR) has commenced the major task of equipping the team's impressive new race headquarters located adjacent to the Ford Performance Vehicles and V8 engine manufacturing plants in the northern Melbourne suburb of Campbellfield.
Located within a one kilometre radius of Ford Australia's major manufacturing plant, the centralised FPV and FPR operations represent a multi-million dollar investment towards success both on and off the track by Prodrive and Ford.
Covering more than 3,600 square metres of floor space along with a mezzanine level, the new FPR headquarters will be without any doubt the largest and most technically advanced motor racing facility in the country. Scheduled for complete fit-out and unveiling to the public in late February 2004, the new facility will also house the FPV Marketing team. The multi-purpose venue has been designed for use by team sponsors for launch events, staff presentations or celebrations.
FPR and FPV will also encourage visits from fans of all ages with a large area devoted purely to cater for this purpose, complete with a merchandise store for souvenirs and a café which will offer viewing areas of Team FPR at work.
According to FPR Managing Director David Flint, "We have started the detailed fit out of the FPR Race Centre and it is taking shape extremely well. As with any operation as extensive as this, we have constructed a number of specialised areas and are equipping these with state of the art machinery, so we are still two months away from it being totally completed. There is an air of excitement around the place leading to season 2004 which is infectious - we can't wait to unveil what will be without any doubt the most impressive motor racing facility in the country very soon."
The public will get their chance to inspect Australia's newest motor racing engineering facility along with Australia's only V8 engine manufacturing plant and Prodrive Technology Australia's engineering operations during the 2004 FPV / FPR Open Day, scheduled for Sunday February 29.
The recently announced FPR line up change for the 2004 season from three to two FPR BA Falcons will allow the team's engineers to take full advantage of the research and development facilities that exist within this new facility. This will allow more resources to be devoted to the constant development of every facet of the team's on track performance.
