Conrod, Straight: Issue 11 9/2/2010 11:02 (Michael Shaw) - A long time has passed since the last time I wrote a Conrod, Straight. This hasn’t been through a lack of intent, more a combination of time, ideas and more time. But today I stand before you...oh hang on, sit before...no, wrong again. Some days ago I sat before a computer and typed.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 10 12/9/2007 21:54 (Michael Shaw) - Craig Gore’s magic three-year plan lies in tatters. He was going to storm in, learn the series in year one, win some races in year two and then knock the field for six in year three and take the championship on his way out the door. V8 Supercars was only meant to be a marketing exercise for his company, Wright Patton Shakespeare, to get the name in front of the right people and as many of them as possible. As he told Conrod almost three years ago – “We came here as a business.”

Conrod, Straight: Issue 9 29/11/2006 9:59 (Michael Shaw) - The international experiment continued last week in Bahrain. After two previous attempts (one successful and one not), V8 Supercars Australia are hoping that two out of three ain’t bad.

Conrod, Straight - Issue 8 11/8/2006 22:06 (Michael Shaw) - Welcome to the 8th issue of Conrod, Straight. It has been a little while since the previous issue, but there hasn’t been too much to talk about. So in light of this, I will do a little half-term report. I thought we’d look for any patterns in the results by looking at the statistics.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 7 7/4/2006 15:14 (Michael Shaw) - For this, the seventh issue of Conrod, Straight, I thought that instead of doing the usual season preview (that you can get pretty much anywhere), I would go through some of the new rules for the 2006 V8 Supercar season.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 5 5/1/2006 9:19 (Michael Shaw) - In wondering what to write in this issue of Conrod, Straight, it was pondered whether now is a good time to switch to fortnightly issues for the off-season – after all the information pool is definitely drying up. And now the holidays have been and gone I’m sure that you all are in need of some ideas on how not to go crazy while we await the start of season 2006.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 4 15/12/2005 10:07 (Michael Shaw) - Top Gear. Two words that mean a lot in UK television. It’s not that they’re unheard of in Australia but, it’s only as of last Monday, that free-to-air TV has finally shown this wonderful show. If this doesn’t sound like the 4th issue of Conrod, Straight, then you’d be wrong, ‘cause this week we’re talking motor TV (hey it’s the off-season).

Conrod, Straight: Issue 3 9/12/2005 18:44 (Michael Shaw) - For this, the third issue of Conrod, Straight, I thought I’d expand on a subject I’d been discussing on the forums; Points.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 2 1/12/2005 9:06 (Michael Shaw) - I have to start Issue 2 of ‘Conrod, Straight’ by congratulating Russell Ingall. After 10 years of hard work in V8 Supercars on top of his exploits overseas, he has finally achieved the pinnacle of Australian motorsport.

Conrod, Straight: Issue 1 24/11/2005 12:42 (Michael Shaw) - Welcome to the first edition of ‘Conrod, Straight’. This is a weekly discourse where I will bring the news, my views and information on V8 Supercars. I will be doing my best to have this published on Wednesday each week but please forgive me if I’m off by a day once in a while. Also, the format may be reduced to fortnightly over the off-season, depending on how much input I receive from readers and, of course, the teams (who kinda like to use the off-season as a break, Go Figure).
